PixCal Solutions is a video technology consulting unit established by Mitsuhiro Uchida in September 2026. Focusing on color management, we provide technical support and solutions across video production workflows, from production through post production and mastering.

FOUNDER / CONSULTANT
Mitsuhiro Uchida
He holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Tokyo Institute of Technology. His career has spanned photographic film, digital cameras, cinema and broadcast, HDR monitors, and streaming production, with a focus on technology development and production support.
Key Roles and Contributions at Fujifilm
- Development of color negative film
- Color reproduction design for photographic film
- System design for the “QuickSnap” single-use camera
- Image quality design for the “FinePix” digital camera series
- Product planning and development of film and cameras for the “NATURA” series
- Development of web-based image processing services
Career History
2009–2013｜ACES and on-set Color Management
In 2009, he joined the ACES development team at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which led him to focus on color management for motion picture production.
He contributed to the development of ACES standards, including ADX and RRT, and received an Emmy Award for this work in 2012. That same year, he developed the ACES-based color management system “IS-100” and introduced Japan’s first ACES color pipeline for the feature film The Brain Man (No Otoko).
In 2013, he developed and launched “IS-mini,” helping promote LUT box–based on-set color management.
2016–2017｜WOWOW
In 2016, he joined WOWOW Entertainment. In 2017, he developed and launched “IS-miniX,” featuring frame and metadata capture, as well as the color management software “WonderLookPro.”
2018–2021｜TVLogic
In 2018, he joined TVLogic, a South Korean manufacturer of professional broadcast and production monitors. As Chief Technology Officer (CTO), he led the development of the company’s HDR display technologies and professional HDR monitors.
2021–2026｜Netflix Japan
In 2021, he joined Netflix Japan as a Production Technologist, providing technical support for productions and production workflows.
He also conducted color management seminars for Netflix partners and developed various macOS and Windows tools to support production workflows.
2026｜PixCal Solutions
After leaving Netflix Japan, he founded PixCal Solutions, bringing his decades of experience in imaging technology, color science, and production workflows to a new chapter as an independent consultant.
